Plate 50　CRANCHIIDAE サメハダホウズキイカ科 （図A．スリナム沖産；B．日本産；C．触腕） 197. クジャクイカ Taonius pavo (Lesueur, 1821) 大きさ 外套長24cm。 特徴 外套膜は薄膜状で細長い円錐形であるが、前方やゝとがる。背中線上には軟甲があらわれている。鰭は長く外套長の1/2に及び、半葉は半月形で両方あわせると紡錐形である。頭部は小さいが、巨大な眼があり、眼球には半月形の大小2発光器がある。腕吸盤は2列で、吸盤は球状、大吸盤角質環には20〜30の歯がある。触腕は腕より少し長い程度で掌部には4列の吸盤があり、中央吸盤には特大の鉤状となった2歯があり、縁部吸盤には数本の鋭歯をもつ。 Mantle elongated, thin, tapering posteriorly, 24 cm in length. Fins lanceolate, extending as half as the mantle length. Head small but with bulbous eyes that bears two crescent photophores. Arms with biserial, spherical suckers. Tentacles a little longer than arms, with 4 series of suckers on the club. Mesial sucker rings with 2 hook-like, curved teeth. Marginal sucker rings with several sharp teeth. （図．土佐湾産） 198. スカシイカ Galiteuthis pacifica (Robson, 1948) 大きさ 外套長20cm。 特徴 外套膜は細長く袋状。表皮上に不規則な模様がある。鰭は縦長卵円形で、長さは外套長の25％ぐらい。頭部は小さいが、眼は大きく、U字型と半月型の発光組織をもつ。腕は短い。触腕は太く長く、掌部に5〜6対の鉤があり、先端部には20以上の小吸盤がある。 Mantle elongate, saccular, with irregular color pattern on integument. Fins longitudinally elongate oval, FLI 25. Head very small but has large, bulbous eye, which possesses U-shaped and crescent photogenic tissue. Arms very short.Tentacle strong. Carpal suckers continuous to stalk. Manus with 5-6 pairs of hooks. Dactylus with more than 20 minute suckers. （図A, B．沖縄産；C．♀第�L腕先端；D．眼球 ） 199. オオホウズキイカ Megalocranchia maxima Pfeffer, 1884 大きさ 外套長180cm。 特徴 外套膜は細長く、鰭は縦長の卵円形で、長さは外套長の半分ぐらいに及ぶ。漏斗と外套膜が癒着したところから微かな逆V字型の線が走るが、軟骨状にはならない。眼は大きく長い曲線状と半月型の発光組織がある。雌の第�L腕の先端には黒色の葉片がある。触腕には4列の吸盤がある。外套腔内の肝臓の上はひと塊になった4つの大きい発光器があるのが特徴。 Mantle, elongate, saccular, 180 cm ML. Fins longitudianally elogate oval, about half og ML. Inverted V-shaped streak, which is never cartilaginous, runs behind. Eye large, with photophores of curved line and crescent in shape. Tip of arm �L of female present black lobe. Tentacle club with quadriserial suckers. Four large photophores present in a mass on the liver in matle cavity. 200. ダイオウホウズキイカ Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni Robson, 1925 大きさ 外套長250cm、150kg。 特徴 外套膜は細長い円錐形で、柔らかい。鰭は心臓型で長さは外套長の半分ぐらい。腕は長く吸盤は2列で中ほどの3〜11対は鉤になっている。触腕の先端は余り拡がらず、保護膜や泳膜はない。掌部に白く石灰化した鉤を2列20個内外もっているほか縁部に小吸盤がある。基部吸盤は発達している。 Gigantic species. Mantle elongate conical, soft, 250 cm ML. Fins heart-shaped, as long as half ML. Arm rather long, with biserial suckers of wich middle 3-11 pairs modified into hooks. Tentacle club not so expanded, without protective membrane nor aboral keel. Manus with double rows of about 20 calcified hooks and marginal minute suckers. Carpal suckers well developed.
