181. ソデイカ Thysanoteuthis rhombus Troschel, 1857
市場名	タルイカ、オオトビイカ、セイイカ（地方名）。
大きさ	外套長80cm。
特徴	外套膜はスルメイカ類のように円錐形に近いが、大きく厚い菱形の鰭が外套全長に及んでいるため極めて特異な外観を持つ。腕の保護膜は極めて広い。腕の大吸盤の角質環には20～26の鋭い歯があり、触腕のそれには15～20個の細かい歯がある。軟甲の型も他の類と異なる。
Body muscular with large fins attaining entire length of mantle. Arms with very broad protective membranes and sucker rings with 20-26 sharp teeth. Tentacle rather weak and sucker rings with 15-29 fine teeth. Usually swimming in pair.

182. ユウレイイカ Chiroteuthis (Chirothauma) imperator Chun, 1913
大きさ	外套長25cm（尾部を含む）。
特徴	全身寒天状で柔かい。外套膜は細長い円錐型で、鰭は円形、後方の長い尾部も両側やゝ翼状に広がる。頸は長く円筒形。眼の周縁に3列に並ぶ発光器がある。腕も寒天質であるが第Ⅳ腕は特に膨大するのみでなく組織に埋った55の発光器がある。触腕柄部は長く、この上に40の発光器がある。触腕吸盤は長い柄をもち鰭状の突起があり、4横列が凡そ90列あり、掌部先端に発光器がある。墨汁嚢上の1対の水滴型の発光器がある。
Body soft and gelatinous. Mantle elongate conical with oval fins and long tail which carries narrow fin-like lateral lobes. Neck long, cylindrical. Eyeball carries 3 rows of photophores. Arms gelatinous, especially arm Ⅳ enlarged with 55 photophores embedded in integument. Tentacle stalk slender and long with 40 photophoers. Club with long-pediceled suckers which carries fin-like structure in 4 rows in 90 transverse rows. Black photophore present at club tip. A pair of drop-shaped photophores present on ink sac

183. ツクシユウレイイカ Chiroteuthis (Chirothauma) calyx Young, 1972
大きさ	外套長6cm。
特徴	前種のユウレイイカに似るが紫色が外套膜は短く濃く、触腕の吸盤柄部にあたかもつくし（土筆）の“袴”のような構造をもつところが顕著に異る。そのほか、眼球の発光器列が帯状で2列であることでも区別される。
Resemble the preceding species in general appearance, except short mantle and neck, but differs therefrom in having (1) striated “skirt” on sucker pedicels of tentacle club and (2) only two of photogenic belt on eyeball.

184. シチクイカ＊ Asperoteuthis acanthoderma (Lu, 1977)
大きさ	外套長78cm。
特徴	全身極めて細長い。紫色が強い。外套膜後端には楕円形の鰭とその後に柳葉型の第2鰭がある。眼球腹面に発光組織のパッチがある。腕も細長く、触腕は外套長の4倍ぐらい長く、掌部基部は吸盤を欠き葉状膜が拡がる。先端部に発光器をもつ。
Animal slender and deep violet in color. Elliptical fins and lanceolate second fin present behind mantle. Eyeball with phtogenic patch ventrally. Arms very long. Tentacle as long as 4 times ML. Carpal region lacks suckers but present membraneous lobes. A light organ present on tip of club.
