Plate 45　OMMASTREPHIDAE−Atlantic 大西洋(3) （図. スリナム産） 177. カナダイレックス Illex illecebrosus (Lesueur, 1821) 市場名 マツイカ 大きさ 外套長28cm 特徴 概形スルメイカ型。外套膜は円筒形で筋肉質。外套背中線上に黒縦帯がある。鰭は横長の菱形で，鰭頂角（片側）は40°〜50°。漏斗溝は平滑で縦溝もポケット状の側襞もない。漏斗軟骨器は�膜^。腕吸盤の角質環は外縁寄りに鈍歯が並ぶが，基部寄りの縁は平滑である。次種ヨーロッパイレックスのように雄第�K，�L腕が大きくなることはない。雄の右第�M腕が交接腕で，左第�M腕より短かく，変形部分は全腕長の15〜25％で，肉質膜は著るしい棘状にならない。 Mantle cylindrical, muscular, 28cm ML, with a broad black mid-dorsal stripe. Fins sagittate, with fin angle 40°−50°.Funnel groove smooth. Funnel cartilage inverted T-shaped. Chitinous rings of arm suckers with blunt teeth distally and smooth proximal rim. Right arm �M in male hectocotylized, shorter than opposite arm, with 15−25％ of modified portion. Fleshy flap rather smooth. （図. スリナム産） 178. ヨーロッパイレックス Illex coindetii (Verany, 1837) 大きさ 外套長：31cm。 特徴 概形スルメイカ型で，前種に極めてよく似ていて基本的形態は共通であるが，次の諸点で異なる。(1)外套膜は成熟雌を除いて前端に最大幅がある（前種では中ほど），(2)鰭頂角50°以上，(3)雄の第�K，�L腕の吸盤は拡大する。又腕も相対的に太い。(4)交接腕変形部は25％以上に達し，その腕は相対する左�M腕より長い。(5)変形部にある肉質膜には鋸歯状突起がある。 付記 カリブ海・西インド諸島には他に1種アメリカイレックスI. oxygoniusが分布するが，同種は外套膜は極めて細く，鰭角も25°〜35°と狭く，頭部は外套開口より遙かに大で一見して識別し得る。 Mantle cylindrical, muscular, 31cm ML. Very close to I. illecebrosus, but differs from it in the following points: (1) The largest mantle width located in the anterior margin (except for gravid female); (2) fin angle larger than 50°; (3) suckers of the arms �K and �L in males usually enlarged; (4) modified portion of hectocotylus extending more than 25％ and hectocotylus longer than the opposite arm; and (5) fleshy flaps fringed. （図A. パタゴニア産；B. 交接腕） 179. アルゼンチンイレックス Illex argentinus (Castellanos, 1960) 大きさ 外套長40cm。 特徴 外形はスルメイカによく似ている外套膜は円筒形で，鰭は菱形で，鰭頂角は47°〜52°。鰭の長さは背外套長の39〜43％。漏斗溝は平滑で，縦溝もポケット状の側襞もない。漏斗軟骨器は�膜^。吸盤の角質環の外縁には数本の歯があり，特に大型の吸盤では中央の1歯のみ大きい。第�K，�L腕の吸盤は大きく，雄では右の第�M腕が交接腕となり，その変形部分は腕長の28〜56％。触腕掌部の中央部の吸盤は4列で，中央の2列が大型化し，その角質環は尖った歯を持たない。基部には2列の小吸盤があり，先端部には4列の微小吸盤がある。 Mantle cylindrical, robust. Fins triangular, FLI 39-43, FWI 50-62. Fin angle 47°-52°. Funnel rocking apparatus inverted T-shaped; no vertical fold nor lateral pocket in funnel groove. Sucker rings with several teeth, distal median tooth enlarged. Right arm �M of male hectocotylized, modified portion 28-56％ of arm length. Tentacles relatively short, suckers in 4 rows and mesial 2 rows enlarged on manus, 2 rows at carpus, 4 rows suckers at dactylus. （図A．アンゴラ沖産；B．交接腕） 180. ニセイレックス Todaropsis eblanae (Ball, 1841) 大きさ 外套長16cm（♂）。27cm（♀）。 特徴 型はほぼスルメイカ型であるが，外套膜は太短かく、外套長は外套幅の3倍。腕部が長い感じを与える。外套膜背中線上に暗色帯がある。漏斗溝は平滑で，縦溝もポケット様の側襞もない。漏斗軟骨器は�膜^。腕の大吸盤の環には外縁にしか歯はなく基部寄りの縁は平滑。触腕の吸盤は4列あるが先端部まで変らない（Illex属では先端になると8列になるところが本属と異なる）。角質環の歯は同大で，間隔を空けて並んでいる。雄の両�M腕が交接腕となっていて左は基部のみ，右は先端まで変形している。 付記 漏斗溝に縦襞もポケット状襞もないところからIllex属と同じ亜科におかれているが，触腕と交接腕の形式が異なるのみならず，外套膜が太短かい概観から容易に識別し得る。 Mantle short. Differs from Illex in having 4 rows of suckers in tentacular dactylus (instead of 8 in Illex). Hectocotylization affects on both arms �M.
