Plate 44　OMMASTREPHIDAE アカイカ科−Atlantic 大西洋(2) （図A．北東大西洋産；B．第�L腕角質環；C．交接腕） 173. ヨーロッパスルメイカ Todarodes sagittatus (Lamarck, 1799) 大きさ 外套長75cm。 特徴 典型的なスルメイカ型で巨大になる。色は日本のスルメイカより濃く，背中線に更に濃い縦帯がある。外套膜の内側も紫色をしている。漏斗溝前端には縦溝があるが，ポケット状の側襞はない。腕は太く大吸盤の角質環には7〜9個の歯があり中央のものはやや大きめである。触腕には掌部だけでなく柄の方にも小さい吸盤がある。雄の右第�M腕が交接腕に変形している。 付記 分布は広く南北大西洋に及ぶが，アメリカ側には分布しない。 Body dark purplish in color. Funnel groove with foveola but without lateral pocket. Arm sucker ring with 7-9 teeth. Tentacular suckers continuous onto the stalk. （図A．カンタベリーバイト沖産；B．第�L腕角質環） 174. アンゴラスルメイカ Todarodes angolensis Adam, 1962 大きさ 外套長56cm 特徴 外套膜は円筒形で典型的なスルメイカ型。鰭は菱形。漏斗溝には縦溝のみがある。腕の角質環には5〜8個の円錐歯があり、その間に小歯があって大小交互となる。雄の右�M腕先端40％は肉嘴列化した交接腕となる。触腕吸盤4列、大吸盤の角質環には14〜17個の円錐歯があり板状歯と交互に配列する。 Mantle cylindrical, typical for todaronin, with sagittate fins. Funnel groove with foveola only. Arm sucker rings with 5-8 conical teeth alternating with small denticles between them. Arm �M of male hectocotylized with row of papillae on distal 40％ of arm length. Tentacle suckers in 4 rows. Large sucker ring with 14-17 conical teeth alternating with square plates. （図A．ニュージーランド沖産；B．交接腕） 175. ミナミスルメイカ Todarodes filippovae Adam, 1975 大きさ 外套長50cm。 特徴 大型のスルメイカ類。色は濃い紫褐色で，背中線上は特に濃い。漏斗溝前端には縦溝があるが，ポケット状側襞はない。腕は太く，大吸盤の角質環は鋭い10本内外の歯がある。触腕は太く逞しくその大吸盤は10−11，時には8〜9個の大きい歯があり，歯の間には低い板状突起がある。雄右第�M腕が交接腕で，腕全長の39〜42％の吸盤が肉嘴に変形している。 付記 外形ヨーロッパスルメイカに似ているが，触腕柄部の吸盤が2対（sagittatusでは10〜12対，angolensisでは4対）である点，触腕掌部の吸盤角質環歯がわずかに8〜11（sagittatusでは約20）である点や交接腕の形態が異なるので識別される。 Body dark purplish in color. Only 2 pairs of small suckers (10-12 pairs in T. sagittatus) present on the tentacular stalk. （図．パタゴニア産） 176. アカスルメイカ Martialia hyadeshi Rochebrune & Mabille, 1891 別名 ニセスルメイカ 大きさ 外套長45cm 特徴 外形はスルメイカに似ていて、外套膜は筒型。外套背面中央に太い暗褐色の縦線がある。鰭は菱形で，鰭頂角は44°〜46°。鰭の長さは外套長の45〜47％。漏斗溝には弱い縦溝がある。漏斗軟骨器は�膜^。腕の吸盤の角質環の外縁には約7本の小歯があり，基部側は無歯。腕の吸盤は，むしろ小さい。各腕の吸盤基部は肥大し，肉質突起を持つ。雄の右第�M腕が交接腕となる。触腕は短かいが，筋肉質で強い。触腕基部近くまで吸盤がある。掌部の吸盤は4列で中央の2列が大型化している。その角質環には13〜16本の鋭歯が板状歯と交互に並ぶ。外側の2列の吸盤は小さく，その基部には肉質突起がある。触腕基部側の吸盤は2列で，やはり肉質突起を持ち，もつとも基部には約4対の肉質突起のみがある。 Mantle cylindrical, robust. Fins sagittate; length 45-47％, of ML. Fin angle 44°-46°. Funnel apparatus inverted T-shaped. Weak vertical folds (foveola) present in funnel groove. Bases of arm suckers enlarged, with fleshy flap. Sucker rings with about 7 teeth on the distal half and smooth proximal half. Right arm �M of male hectocotylized. Tentacles short, but muscular and robust. Club exteremely long, extended to base of tentacle. Among 4 rows of manus, mesial 2 rows slightly enlarged with fleshy traberculae in marginal 2 rows. Two rows of carpus suckers with fleshy trabercula at basal. About 4 pairs of nipple-like papillae at proximal end of club. Sucker rings with 13-16 sharp teeth alternating with square teeth.
