Plate 31　ONYCHOTEUTHIDAE ツメイカ科 （図．地中海産） 121. ホソツメイカ Ancistroteuthis lichtensteini (Orbigny, 1839) 大きさ 外套長20cm。 特徴 外套膜は強く緊って筋肉質。鰭は大きく外套長の1/2位。頸襞は12。眼の後に縦襞が3個ある。腕は長く，第�L腕泳膜広く，吸盤角質は平滑。触腕掌部には14対の鉤が並んでいて，背側列の方が大きい。体色は新鮮なうち真珠光沢があって美しい。内臓発光器をもたない。 Body muscular and skinny with iridescence. Nuchal folds 12. Tentacular hooks 28. Without visceral photophore. （図A．南西太平洋産；B．触腕） 122. ランクレールツメイカダマシ “Onykia” rancureli Okutani, 1981 大きさ 外套長10cm 特徴 外套膜は円角形。鰭は丸みがあり、長さは外套長の40〜50％，幅は85〜105％。腕吸盤の角質環は平滑。触腕の鉤は26〜27で、腹側列の第4、5番目のものは背側の相対する鉤の3〜4倍も大きい。先端小吸盤は7〜9。発光組織らしいものは無い。 付記 本種は成体でも鰭が丸い点と軟甲端の特徴から、本科の何れの属とも異なり、新属を必要とする。 Mantle cylindrical. Fins oval, FLI 40-50 and FWI 85-105. Arm equal with smooth sucker rings. Tentacle manus with 26-27 hooks in a double row. 4th and 5th hooks on ventral row 3-4 times larger than counterparts of dorsal row. No photogenic tissue present. This species needs a new genus, particularly for the characters of fins which is oval even in adult and of characters of the gladius. （図A, B．南大洋産） 123. ウデナガニュウドウイカ＊ Kondakovia longimana Filippova, 1972 大きさ 外套長26cm。 特徴 外套膜は円筒形で老成すると縦に走る皺が出来る。鰭は比較的小さく、長さは外套長の40％，幅は60％。腕は著るしく長く、外套長と同長かやや超える。吸盤角質環は平滑。触腕は著るしく長く掌部には33個の鉤と、同数の縁列吸盤がある。先端小吸盤は28個。 Mantle cylindrical, 26cm ML, ornamented with longitudinal dermal ridges. Fins rather small, FLI 40, FWI 60. Arms as long as or little longer than ML. Sucker rings smooth. Tentacle manus with 33 hooks and marginal sucker of the same number. Dactylus suckers 28 in number. （図A, B．南太平洋産） 124. ナンキョクニュウドウイカ Moroteuthis knipovitchi Filippova, 1972 大きさ 外套長35cm。 特徴 外形スルメイカ型で，この類では例外的に皮膚は滑らか。背中線は軟甲によりやや盛り上る。鰭は広い。腕はほぼ等長で角質環は平滑。触腕掌部鉤数20〜30個，中でも背側列は2〜4番目，腹側列は6〜8番目の鉤が最大で，各鉤の基部には欠刻がある。 付記 南極海のクジラの餌として重要種で，全餌イカの47％〜76％を占める水域もあり，大きな潜在資源の存在を示唆する。底曳網で400〜500mでとれる一方，表層で摂餌するクジラの胃中からも見つかる。 Smooth skin as an exception for the genus.
