Plate 30　ONYCHOTEUTHIDAE ツメイカ科 （図A．本州南方沖産；B．直腸上の発光器） 117. ホンツメイカ Onychoteuthis banksi Leach, 1817 大きさ 外套長11cm。 特徴 全体スルメイカ型で、筋肉は良く緊る。鰭は菱形で大きく、両端尖る。外套背中線上に黒い軟甲の中軸が見える。頸襞は9〜10対ある。腕は強く、吸盤2列で角質環には歯はなく平滑。触腕には19〜23個の強力な鉤がある。直腸上に丸い発光器が2個ある。 付記 北太平洋のツメイカO. borealijaponicaは(１)触腕の鉤数が25〜27個で多く、（2）直腸上の発光器が小さく卵円型、（3）外套膜がいく分柔かいなどの点で異なる。 Mantle muscular, cylindrical, 11 cm ML, with broad sagittate fins posteriorly. Gladius presents as a dark streak along the mid-dorsum. Neck with 9−10 pairs of nuchal folds. Arms strong with 2 series of suckers of which horny rings lack teeth. Tentacular club with 19−23 strong hooks. Two spherical photophores lie on the intestine. O. borealijaponica in the North Pacific differs from this species in having 25−27 tentacular hooks, smaller and oval intestinal photophores and less muscular mantle. （図A．三陸沖産；B．触腕； C．直腸上の発光器） 118. ツメイカ Onychoteuthis borealijaponica Okada, 1927 大きさ 外套長30cm。 特徴 外套膜は円筒形で筋肉質、比較的薄い。背中線上に軟甲の中軸が見える。鰭長は外套長の55％、長さは65％ぐらいで左右の鋭い菱形形。頸襞は8対。腕の吸盤角質環は平滑。触腕には25〜27個の鉤がある。先端小吸盤は15個内外。眼球の腹側にも発光組織がある。 付記 ホンツメイカO. banksiとの形態上の相違は前種の「付記」参照。 Mantle cylindrical, 30 cm ML, muscular, but rather thin. Gladius present as a dark line on mid-dorsal line. FL 55% and FW 65% of ML. Fis rhombic, with acute lateral tips. Nuchal folds 8 pairs. Chitinous rings of arm suckers entirely smooth. Tentacle manus with 25−27 hooks. Dactylus suckers about 15 in number. Photogenic patch present on ventral side of eyeball. See note on above species for difference between this species and O. banksi. （図A. 南西太平洋産；B. 触腕； C. 直腸上の発光器 ap, pp.） 119. コダカツメイカ Onychoteuthis meridiopacifica Rancurel & Okutani, 1990 大きさ 外套長6cm。 特徴 外套膜は円筒形で筋肉質。背中線上に軟甲中軸が明瞭に現われる。鰭は菱形、長さは外套長の45％、幅は85％、腕は短かめ。吸盤角偵環は平滑。触腕に16〜19個の鉤があり、腹列の方が大きい。直腸上の発光器は直腸の幅より小さい。 付記 本種は小型で成熟する。鰭頂角は大きく、直腸発光器が小さいことなどでO. banksiと区別される。熱帯太平洋の表層に多いらしくミズウオの胃中に最も普通種のひとつ。 Mantle cylindrical, muscular, 6 cm ML. Gladius apparent on mid-dorsal line. Fins rhombic, FLI 45, FWI 85. Arms rather short. Chitinous ring of arm suckers smooth. Tentacle manus with 16-19 hooks of which ventral row far larger than dorsal ones. Intestinal photophores as small as width of rectum. This species mature in small size. It differs from O. banksi in having larger fin angle and smaller intestinal photophore. Common in stomach contents of lancetfish in Southwest Pacific. （図A. 中央太平洋産；B. ハワイ産） 120. ハワイツメイカ＊ Onychoteuthis compacta (Berry, 1913) 大きさ 外套長2.5cm 特徴 外套膜は円筒形で、鰭は大きく、長さは外套長の42％であるが、幅は70％。腕は短かく、触腕も短かい。掌部には10〜11の鉤があるが、そのうち中央の3鉤が著るしく大きい。眼球腹面に発光組織をもち、直腸上にも発光器がある。 付記 小型の別種コガタツメイカO. meridiopacificaは触腕の鉤が遙かに多く(16〜19)、鰭幅も大きく、直腸上の発光器が極めて小さい点で区別し得る。 Mantle short, cylindrical, muscular, 2.5cm ML. Fins broad, FLI 42 and FWI 70. Arms short. Tentacle also short with 10-11 hooks of which middle 3 remarkably large. Subocular photogenic patch present and visceral photophores apparent. Another small congeneric species, O. meridiopacifica, may be separable from this compact species in having broader fins (FLI=85), more hooks (16-19) on manus and very small visceral photophores.
