Plate 23　LOLIGINIDAE ヤリイカ科(ジンドウイカ科) −East Atlantic 東大西洋(1) （図A, B．地中海産） 89．ヨーロッパオオヤリイカ Loligo forbesi Steenstrup, 1856 大きさ 外套長90cm（♂），41cm（♀）。 特徴 大型で太いヤリイカ型。鰭は菱形で縦長，外套長の3/4に達する。腕の大吸盤環歯には7〜8個の方形の歯があり，触腕掌部のそれには13〜18個の円錐形の鋭歯が間隔をおいて並ぶ。近似種のヨーロッパヤリイカL. vunlgarisと異なる所は触腕吸盤は内外列共に大きさにあまり相違のない所である。外套膜の腹面には断続的な橙赤色の紡鐘形の斑紋がある。 生態 英仏海峡では11〜3月（12〜1月が盛期）に25〜30cm級になると産卵が行われ，夏には外套長14〜15cmぐらいに育ち，北海方面に回遊し，秋・冬期トロールで漁獲される。 付記 分布域の北半では本種はヨーロッパヤリイカと共棲みしている。主要な区別点は上記の触腕掌部吸盤の大きさ比率と体色のほか，本種の方が一見して眼が大きい感じを与える。 Common British squid: Fins attain 3/4 ML. Arm sucker ring with 7-8 square, blunt teeth. Tentacular sucker ring with 13-18 conical sharp teeth. Marginal and inner suckers in manus similar in size to each other. Discontinuous orange stripes present on ventrum. Spawns at 25-30cm ML during November-March in the Englih Channel. （図A, B．地中海産） 90．ヨーロッパヤリイカ Loligo vulgaris Lamarck, 1798 大きさ 外套長41. 5cm（♂），32cm（♀）。 特徴 太く大きいヤリイカ類。鰭は縦長の菱形で，外套長の2/3ぐらい。外套膜の腹面に断続的な縦線のもようがあるが，ヨーロッパオオヤリイカのそれのように赤橙色でなく帯紫色で分布も粗い。成熟雄は腹中線に肉畝が出来る。触腕掌部の吸盤は内側の2列は外側列より遥かに大きい。環歯は18〜22個。 生態 外套長13〜16cm級で性的成熟する。北西地中海では産卵期は11〜4月。通常水深40〜550mあたりに棲息するが，産卵のためには沿岸に寄る。 Common European squid: Fins attain 2/3 ML. Ventral mantle with purplish discontinuous stripes. Tentacular central suckers far larger than marginal ones. Teeth of chitinous rings 18-22. Occasionally sympatric with the preceding species. Generally live at depths between 40m and 550m. Spawns during November-April in the shallow. （図．南アフリカ産） 91．アフリカヤリイカ＊ Loligo vulgaris reynaudi Orbigny, 1845 大きさ 外套長40cm，体重1kg。 特徴 外套膜は細めで、鰭長は外套長の65％ぐらい。腕吸盤角質環歯は丸みがあり21〜30個。雄の左第�M腕は先端の25〜35％が変形して交接腕化する。触腕吸盤は約6列で中央列のものが縁列のものより大きい。角質環は殆ど平滑のものもあり、16〜20の歯と小瘤が混在するものがある。 付記 本種はアイソザイムによる研究からヨーロッパヤリイカL. vulgarisの亜種であることが明らかにされ、外套長78mm以上になると触腕大吸盤が無歯となり、吸盤列も44列（vulgaris は36列）など形態的に徴差がある。 Mantle elongated, with FL 65％ of ML. Teeth of arm sucker rings round, 21-30 in number. Left arm �M of male hectocotylized with 25-35％ modified distal part. Tentacle club sucker loosely arranged in 6 rows in manus. Mesial suckers larger than marginal ones. Chitinous rings in mesial suckers sometimes entirely smooth or with 16-20 teeth and/or knobs. This squid is a subspecies of European L. vulgaris based on isozyme analysis. It differs from L. vulgaris in having smooth club rings and 44 transverse rows (vs36 in vulgaris) in club. （図A, B．南アフリカ西岸ルデリッツ湾産） 92．アフリカフクロジンドウイカ＊ Lolliguncula mercatoris Adam, 1941 大きさ 外套長3. 5cm（♂），5cm（♀）。 特徴 外套膜は太短く後端丸みがある。鰭長は外套長の40〜45％，幅は55〜65％で丸い。第�J腕は非常に短かく，腕吸盤の角質環は幅広い矩形の歯が4（♂）〜7（♀）あり、基部寄り1/3は縁状。雄の左第4腕は交接腕化し，先端の半分は長い肉嘴列となる。触腕の吸盤4列の中央の4〜5対は大きい。 付記 フクロジンドウイカL. brevis 同様かなり沿岸まで来遊する。 Male (ML 3. 5cm) smaller than female (5cm). Mantle squat. FL 40-45％ ML, FW 55-65％ ML, round. Arm �J extrtemely shorter than other arms. Sucker ring with 4(♂) to 7(♀) square teeth, but smooth margin in one-third proximal portion. Left arm �M hectocotylized, with distal half modified into a double row of long papillae. Tentacle club with 4 rows of suckers, 4-5 pairs of mesial rows enlarged. This species comes inshore like L. brevis in the West Atlantic.
