Plate 21　LOLIGINIDAE ヤリイカ科(ジンドウイカ科) −Americasアメリカ沿岸(2) （図A. カリホルニア産； B. ピュジェットサゥンド産（模式標本）） 81．カリフォルニアヤリイカ Loligo opalescens Berry, 1911 大きさ 外套長9cm。体重130g。 特徴 体は細く，中型のヤリイカ類で，頭足部は小さく，足も短かい。腕の吸盤の角質環には9〜12の鈍歯がある。雄の左第�M腕は交接腕で基部寄り2/3は正常吸盤があるが，先端1/3の吸盤は著しく縮小し肉嘴列状になっている。触腕吸盤は4列でその角質環には30前後の鈍歯がある。発光器はない。 生態 分布の北限・南限は年々の海況によって変動があるが最北限はアラスカ南東部あたり，南限はカリフォルニア半島南端あたりで中心はワシントン州〜カリフォルニア州。産卵のため大集群をなして距岸1〜2キロ以内の処に集まり海底に大産卵床を作る。産卵群にもかかわらず光によく集まる性質をもつ。産卵は南で早く，北で遅れる。主な漁獲はモントレー付近で行なわれるが，港内やすぐ近傍で産卵群をすくい網やランパラ網で漁る。年間平均漁獲量は6, 500トンで4〜6月に全漁獲量の77％を漁っている。稚イカ時代は沖合100km以上の所にも分散している。発光器はない。 Common Pacific squid or California market squid: Body very slender with weak arms. Arm sucker rings with 9-12 blunt teeth. Tentacular sucker ring with about 30 blunt teeth. Distal 1/3 of male's left arm �M modified. Large aggregations for mating and spawning occur 1-2km offshore. （図A, B. スリナム産） 82．アメリカヤリイカ Loligo plei Blainville, 1823 大きさ 外套長35cm（♂）, 22cm（♀）。 特徴 外套膜は細長く，長さは幅の7倍位。雄の腹側には腹中線上に肉畝があり，紫色の電光様の縦縞がある。鰭は縦長の菱形で，外套長の1/2に達す。腕は弱く腕の大吸盤角質環歯は鈍端。触腕掌部には吸盤が4列に並び，中央2列のものは縁列のものの3倍大。角質環には26〜45個位の歯がほぼ等間隔に並んでいてしばしば鈍歯となる。左�M腕が交接腕で先端1/2〜1/4の背側列の吸盤が縮小する。軟甲の縁側は直線的でやや肥厚する。発光器はない。 付記 アメリカケンサキイカL. pealeiとの区別点は(1)外套長の幅の7倍（次種では6倍）で，電光模様がある。(2)軟甲の翼状部やや直線的で肥厚する（次種はササの葉型で肥厚しない）。(3)触腕吸盤角質環歯は26〜45個の同大鈍歯（次種は33〜65の大小交互の鋭歯）。(4)交接腕変形部は左�M腕の先端1/2〜1/4（次種では左�M腕の中ほどだけで末端に迄及ばない）。 Mantle elongate cylindrical, 7 times as long as wide, with mid-ventral fleshy ridge and longitudinal purplish stripes on the male's ventrum. Fins rhombic, as long as half the mantle length. Arms rather weak, sucker rings with blunt teeth. Left ventral arm in male hectocotylized, of which distal half modified. Tentacular club with 4 rows of suckers of which mesial ones thrice larger than the marginals. Horny rings of large suckers with 26−45 teeth that arranged in subequal interval. Gladius with slightly thickened lateral margin. （図A, B．スリナム沖産） 83．アメリカケンサキイカ Loligo pealei Lesueur, 1821 大きさ 外套長50cm（♂），40cm（♀） 特徴 体形は典型的なヤリイカ型で，鰭は縦長の菱形で縁は直線的。外套長の凡そ1/2。腕の大吸盤の角質環には6個内外の方形の歯があり，基底寄りの縁は平滑。雄の左第�M腕は交接腕で，腕の1/3乃至1/4あたりの12個内外の背列の吸盤が縮小し柄は三角形に膨大している。触腕の吸盤は4列，中央2列のものは縁列の2倍大。角質環には35〜65の鋭歯が並び，しばしば大小の歯が交互に並ぶ。軟甲はササの葉状で翼状部は肥厚しない。発光器はない。 Mantle conico-dylindrical, 50cm(♂), 40cm(♀) ML. Fins rhombic, with straight margins, half as long as mantle length. Large sucker ring of arms with about 6 squarish teeth and smooth proximal margin. Left arm �M in male hectocotylized. About 12 dorsal suckers of 1/3〜1/4 mid-portion reduced in size with triangularly enlarged pedicels. Tentacular club with 4 rows of suckers of which mesial ones twice larger than marginal. Horny rings of large suckers with 35−65 sharp teeth frequently alternating in size. Gladius feather-shaped, with margin never thickened. This species is one of the most important commercial squids along the east coasts of Canada and U. S. A. （図A, B．スリナム沖産） 84．スリナムジンドウイカ Loligo surinamensis Voss, 1974 大きさ 外套長12cm。 特徴 外套膜は細長い中型のヤリイカ類。雄の第�J〜�L腕の吸盤は雌のそれより拡大している。大吸盤の角質環に5〜8本の矩形の歯がある。雄の左第�Mは交接腕になっていて，基部寄りの22〜24の正常吸盤に続いて，背側6〜8個の吸盤が縮小又は欠除する平たい肉嘴に変形している。しかし先端は再び正常な吸盤に戻る。触腕の吸盤4列のうち中央2列は縁部のものより僅かに大きい。角質環には48〜49の鋭歯が大小交互にある。 付記 アメリカケンサキイカL. pealeiと類似しているが，(1)右�M腕中ほどの吸盤角質環に鋭歯をもつ（アメリカケンサキイカでは鈍歯），(2)交接腕の肉嘴が扁平巾広の三角形である2点のみで区別可能である。 Mantle conico-cylindrical, 12cm ML. Left ventral arm of male hectocotylized, with 22−24 normal suckers followed by 6−8 reduced or vestigial dorsal suckers and again with normal distal suckers. Tentacular club by 4 rows of suckers of which mesial ones slightly larger than marginal. Chitinous rings with 48−49 sharp teeth alternating in size. This species is very much close to L. pealei in general morphology, but separable therefrom in having sharply toothed sucker on ventral arms and widely flattened pedicels on the modified portion of the hectocotylus.
