Plate 8　SEPIIDAE コウイカ科−South Africa 南アフリカ （図A．南アフリカ産；B．ナタール産；C．触腕） 29．ミナミコウイカ Sepia (Anomalosepia) australis Quoy & Gaimard, 1832 大きさ 外套長5.5 cm 特徴 小型のコウイカ類。外套膜は後端へやや細まり，背側は濃紫褐色。鰭は外套膜後端のいくらか前方から始まっていて，後端は互に距っている。触腕掌部は狭く，泳膜はその基部をわずかに超えている。吸盤列は5列あり，中央列の3個は特大である。貝殻は細長く，最大幅部は前から1/3ぐらいの所にあり，後端には強い棘がある。棘には背部に竜骨がありこれが貝殻後部の側部隆起と癒合している。背側の隆起は明瞭。 Small cuttlefish with purplish brown dorsum. Fins considerably separated from each other at the posterior ends. Tentacular club with 5 rows of suckers of which central 3 remakably larger than the others. Shell elongate with a strong spine which carries dorsal carina fusing with postero-lateral ridges. Dorsal ridge distinct. Abundant on the upper shelf, 50-100m deep. （図A，B．ナミビア産） 30．ガマノセコウイカ＊ Sepia (Spathidosepion) papillata Quoy & Gaimard, 1832 大きさ 外套長14cm。 特徴 外套は卵楕円形で、背側には肉質の疣状突起があり、頭部背面にまで続く。腹側は皺があるのみ。紫褐色。左�M腕は交接腕化し13列の正常吸盤列に続く8列は縮小し中央に空地が生じる。触腕は8列、中央の4吸盤が拡大する。貝殻は幅は長さの半分。内円錐は外円錐に癒着し、棘は短く瘤状。 Medium-sized species attaining 14cm ML. Mantle oval, heavily tuberculated dorsally (to dorsal head) but with only wrinkled patches on the vetrum. Body brownish purple. Left arm �M hectocotylized, 8 rows distal to 13 normal sucker rows diminish in size leaving bare space in the middle. Tentacle suckers 8 rows, with 4 enlarged mesial suckers. Shell oval, SW about 50％ SL. Inner cone fused with outer cone, without spine but a small knob. （図A．ナタール産；B．触腕；C．交接腕； D．雄第�J腕の変形部） 31．クシノハコウイカ＊ Sepia (Doratosepion) burnupi Hoyle, 1904 大きさ 外套長5. 5cm。 特徴 外套膜は長卵形、背側に小顆粒を散らす。雄の第�J腕の吸盤柄は著るしく延長し櫛の歯状になる。また左�M腕は交接腕化し、腹側の保護膜は肥厚し肉襞となり、先端に向って吸盤は縮小化し、最先端は細い肉嘴列がある。右�M腕にも吸盤の縮小と先端肉嘴列がある。触腕は吸盤8列でそのうち5個が拡大。貝殻は細く、幅は長さの1/4。内円錐はU字型、外円錐はやや広い翼状部を作る。 ML attining 5.5cm. Mantle elongate oval, with scattered tubercles dorsally. Arm I of male with elongated pedicels of suckers forming a comb-like modification. Left arm �M hectocotylized, with swollen protective membrane into flesh folds proximally, diminishing size of suckers distally and slender fleshy cirri at distalmost portion. Counter arm (right arm �M) also modified by diminishing suckers and appearance of fleshy cirri at distal portion. Tentacle club with 8 rows of suckers, of which 5 enormous. Shell slender, SW about 25％ SL with U-shaped inner cone and rather broad outer cone wing. （図A．南アフリカ産；B．タンザニア産； C．触腕） 32．モザンビークコウイカ＊ Sepia (Doratosepion) confusa Smith, 1916 大きさ 外套長15cm 特徴 外套膜は細長く幅は長さの1/3。鰭は広く、雄は後方に向って外套長と同じ程度長さの尾状部をもつ。触腕掌部は斜8列に吸盤が並び、中ほどの9個が拡大しているが、そのうちの5個が他の4個より大きい。貝殻背側は淡紅色。幅は長さの20％。内円錐は張り出し、外円錐は翼状。 Mantle elongate, ML attaining 15cm, MW about one-third ML. Fins broad, particularly in male with posterior tail as long as ML. Tentacle club with 8 oblique rows of suckers, among which 9 enlarged (5 of them larger than other 4). Shell elongate, SW 20％ SL. Inner cone with free ledge, outer cone with wing. Dorsal surface of shell pinkish.
