| 特徴 |
外套膜は細長い楕円型で、幅は長さの38％。背側に紫褐色のゴマ粒状の斑点があり、それは少し持ち上っていて周囲は淡色。腹面には鰭に沿った赤褐色の縦条がある。触腕掌部は半月型、泳膜は広い。吸盤は微小同大で約300個で8～10列に並ぶ。貝殻はDoratosepion型で、幅は長さの20％。内円錐は平らな稜でＶ型、外円錐は杯状。 |

本種の名はSasaki（1914）が英文でpardalisと記載するよりも1年早く出版された和文記載のpardexに先取権がある。 |

Mantle elongate oval, 23 cm ML, MW 38% of ML. Dorsum with brownish purplish, a little elevated, small dots surrounded by pale circumference. Reddish brown stripe runs along ventral base of both fins. Tentacle club crescent, with about 300 minute, equal-sized suckers in 8-10 rows. Shell Doratosepion-type, SL 20% of SW. Inner cone flat, V-shaped, outer cone cup-shaped. Occasionally caught by trawlers in southwestern Japan. |

6．テナガコウイカ

| 特徴 |
外套幅は外套長の45％、背前端は著るしく突出する。背側は紫褐色で全面に赤斑を粗らに散らす。雄の第Ⅰ腕は鞭状に延長し、延長部分の吸盤は2列になる。但し、ウスベニコウイカの場合のように柳葉状に拡がらない。第II腕もI腕ほどではないが、やや延長する。触腕吸盤数は70～80個で中央の4個は特大である。貝殻はDoratosepion型で、背稜は明らかで、横線面正中線上に高い峯があり、終室正中線上の溝に続く。横線面の前縁はＷ型。 |

Medium-sized sepiid attaining 20 cm ML. MW 45% ML. Anterior dorsal lobe strongly protruded. Dorsal surface purplish brown with sparse reddish spots. Arm I of male elongated, attenuated and whip-like, carrying a double row of suckers in elongated portion which never flared unlike in S. lorigera. Arm II also elongated but not so much than Arm I. Tentacle club with 70-80 suckers among which mesial 4 extremely enlarged. Shell of Dortaosepion-type, with strong dosal ridge, and a high mesial ridge on the striated area that continues to shallow groove on locus with W-shaped locular boundary. Occasionally trawled in southwestern Japan. |

7．ウデボソコウイカ

| 特徴 |
背側は赤褐色。腹面も淡褐色。第Ⅱ・Ⅲ腕の先端は急に細まり、そこは吸盤が2列になる。雄では第Ⅰ腕が延長し、外套長の1. 3倍を超す。この腕も基部寄り半分の吸盤は4列で、先端の方は2列となる。触腕掌部は半月形で、等大の吸盤が約130個、8列に並ぶ。貝殻はDoratosepion型で比較的薄く、幅は長さの22（♂）～22％（♀）。 |

常盤海域以南九州など日本南西部の水深100～250m。 |

Small sepiid with brownish red dorsal side and pale brown ventral surfce. Arms II and III abruptly attenuated distally where only 2 rows of suckers present. Arm I of male elongated as long as over 1.3 times ML. This arm with 4 rows of suckers proximally, but become 2 rows in elongated distal portion. Tentacle club crescent with about 130 suckers in 8 rows. Shell of Doratosepion type, rather flat, SW 20 () to 22% (♀) SL. Occasinally tralwed from a depth of 100-250 in the southwestern Japan. |

8．トサウデボソコウイカ

| 特徴 |
外套幅は外套長の50（♂）～55％（♀）。背側は褐色で貝殻の縁に相当する部分は暗色。雄の第1腕が延長し、外套長の1.5倍に及ぶが、細まったところの吸盤は2列50対以上あり同時に吸盤柄は膨む。第Ⅱ、Ⅲ腕の先端は細まるがウデボソコウイカのように急激でなく吸盤は先端まで4列ある。触腕掌部は半月型で約130個の吸盤が8列に並ぶ。貝殻はDoratosepion型で幅は長さの23～28％。 |

本種はウデボソコウイカと同所的に駿河湾～土佐湾の水深150～300mで採集されるが、雄の第Ⅰ腕延長部分は本種では触腕より長く伸び、第Ⅱ、Ⅲ腕が急激に細まることは無く、貝殻最大幅が本種では前から36～37％にあり、ウデボソコウイカの場合は25～30％のところにあることで容易に区別される。 |

Small sepiid with MW 50 (♂) to 55 (♀) % ML. Dorsal surface brownish with darker zone along the shell. Arm I of male elongated, 1.5 times ML. Attenuated portion with a double row of suckers with swollen pedicels. Arm II and III also attenuated but not like in S. tenuipes. Tentacle club crecsent, with about 130 suckers in 8 rows. Shell of Doratosepion-type, SW 23-28% SL. Sympatric with S. tenuipes at about 150-300 m deep around Suruga Bay to Tosa Bay, but easily separable by its longer prolongation of the Arm I in male, gradual attenuation of other arms. The widest portion of the shell in this species situated at anterior 36-37%, while that in S. tenuipes at 25-30%. |
